Tomb raider error out of table range

I am running:
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Processor: Intel Core i7-2700K CPU @ 3.50GHz
RAM: 24.0GB

Every time I try running the game I get an error that says:

"ERROR OUT OF TABLE RANGE — Disk error"

I have tried finding solutions online for the problem myself but nothing has worked. I have tried compatibility mode with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 settings but none of them worked. I’ve also tried all these options while running as "Administrator."

I have tried going into: System/Advanced System Settings/Advanced Tab/Performance Settings/Data Execution Prevention and changing the setting to "Turn on DEP for all programs except those I select" and then adding both the "tru.exe" and "testapp.exe" program files to the list. This solution seems to work for a lot of people online but didn’t do anything for me.

I have also, of course, tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and verifying the game cache. I have even tried installing the game on different hard drives. These too were all fruitless endeavors.

Please tell me what else I can try so that I may play this game!

Some people have said changing resolutions has helped them. Give that a go if you haven’t. Otherwise seems like a really strange bug, sorry mate.

Its also possible to change the resolution in the windows registry via regedit:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWARECrystal DynamicsTomb Raider: AnniversaryGraphics

Here are some common values for the "FullscreenModeID"-value (hex):
3c438780: 1920×1080 (60Hz)
3c2d0500: 1280×720 (60Hz)
3c384640: 1600×900 (60Hz)

The value is basically Frequency + Height + Width in hex

In the steam version when starting the game normally you are first asked wether to play the game or run the setup — The resolution is changeable in the setup-utility and not only in-game

Crystal Dynamics isn’t an available folder for me for some reason.

If you have the game installed in other than your C: drive, try to re-install it into the C: drive.
This fixed it for me.

If even the setup wont run, i would guess that the game probably has an issue with the graphicscard driver. One could try running the DirectX Web Installer: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/download/details.aspx? >tra is probably unable to read the list of supported resolutions.

. or some antivirus/firewall tool might be running that blocks something tra needs.

Do you have the game installed on an external drive ?

Did you upgrade to 10 from another os or is it a fresh install?

Have you reinstalled steam using windows 10?,and never rely on wifi to game or download use wired ethernet cable cat5e or cat6.

When I try to run the game (Tomb Raider: anniversary) I get this error message:
