Many of our products now ship with Windows 10 drivers, however in some cases you may need to download the driver, or we may have a newer driver available.

Driver support? The legacy 802.11g products from Alfa seem to work on Windows 10 using the 12/2009 driver for Windows 7, but it must be loaded manually instead of via the Windows 7 installer. In some cases, the driver update wizard can help. You must be connected to Internet first through internal Wi-Fi. Then go to Device Manager, go to Other section, and right click RT81787 device, and select Update Driver. Then select "Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software". Allow wizard to finish. Note this process will not work if you do not have Internet access through your internal Wi-Fi card or built-in Ethernet when doing it. Or you can try to manually install the Windows 7 driver. This video here shows how to do it on Windows 8 and the process is the same on Windows 10.

*We do not advertise AWUS036H/EW/TubeG/UBDO-gt8 to be Windows 10 compatible. This is because the above methods are just workarounds for an old driver and they may not work in call cases.

Simply download this update here. Once downloaded, double-click it to launch. During install, select the option to Install Driver Only. If you have older software on the PC, you may be prompted to Remove All first. Complete that step and run the program again.

AWUS036NHR/AWUS036NHV

Driver support? These devices seem to work with the most recent Realtek drivers on CD however we found that for the AWUS036NHR/NHV, the best performance still comes from a 2011 driver for this chip. We are not sure why newer drivers seem to have lower sensitivity, but here is a link to the 2011 package we found works the best in Windows 10 so far.

Mixed bag. On our PC it auto installed an Atheros driver from 1/4/2010 with version number 2.0.0.32. The driver was stable and we went online and had normal browsing speeds. We have not thoroughly tested the throughput of this driver yet but it seems normal. We have also had buyer reports this product causes crashes on their Windows 10 machine and therefore we do not suggest purchasing this product for Windows 10. Instead this commentary is for existing owners of their product who might be looking for something to try. If your Windows 10 system does not auto install this adapter, you can download the 1/4/2010 driver here. Once you download it, open it and drag the contents to a folder on your desktop, then go to your Device Manager, find this device, right click and update driver, and choose the options to search for a driver manually, and browse to where you put these drivers. Again this may not work for all users or may cause system instability so we do not recommend buying this adapter for Windows 10 use.

AWUS051NH v2/AWUS052NH/AWUS052NHS

Simply download this software here. This is the newest driver for AWUS051NH v2, AWUS052NH, and AWUS052NHS. This contains the latest Windows 10 driver and also works for Windows XP through Windows 8.1 as well. Watch the video below for information on how to scan for and connect to networks.

How to Update Alfa Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

Tech Tip: Updating drivers manually requires some computer skills and patience. A faster and easier option is to use the Driver Update Utility for Alfa to scan your system for free. The utility tells you which specific drivers are out-of-date for all of your devices.

Step 1 — Download Your Driver

To get the latest driver, including Windows 10 drivers, you can choose from a list of most popular Alfa downloads. Click the download button next to the matching model name. After you complete your download, move on to Step 2.

If your driver is not listed and you know the model name or number of your Alfa device, you can use it to search our driver archive for your Alfa device model. Simply type the model name and/or number into the search box and click the Search button. You may see different versions in the results. Choose the best match for your PC and operating system.

Alfa updates their drivers regularly. To get the latest Windows 10 driver, you may need to go to Alfa website to find the driver for to your specific Windows version and device model.

Step 2 — Install Your Driver

After you download your new driver, then you have to install it. To install a driver in Windows, you will need to use a built-in utility called Device Manager. It allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.

How to Open Device Manager

In Windows 8.1 & Windows 10, right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager

In Windows 8, swipe up from the bottom, or right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose "All Apps" -> swipe or scroll right and choose "Control Panel" (under Windows System section) -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install drivers using Device Manager

Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

Select the Driver tab.

Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.

Tech Tip: Driver downloads and updates come in a variety of file formats with different file extensions. For example, you may have downloaded an EXE, INF, ZIP, or SYS file. Each file type has a slighty different installation procedure to follow.
